  • Academic Data: The name of your school, college, or university campus.
  • Platform Activity: The posts you create, comments you leave, books you list, users you follow, and the book requests you send or receive.
  • Communication Data: The timestamps of when you agree to our terms and verify your account via OTP.

2. How We Use Your Information

BoiLoop uses your data strictly to provide and improve our community book-sharing experience. We use it to:

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Connect you with other students at your specific campus.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., OTP codes, book request notifications) via our email provider.
  • Display your public community feed posts and profile information to other users.

3. What is Public vs. Private?

Publicly Visible (To other BoiLoop users):

  • Your Full Name and Avatar.
  • Your Campus/Institution.
  • Your public posts, comments, and listed books.

Strictly Private (Hidden from the public):

  • Your Email Address.
  • Your Mobile Number (unless you explicitly share it in a message to coordinate a book drop-off).
  • Your Date of Birth and exact account password.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.We only share minimal data with trusted service providers necessary to run the app (such as our database hosting provider and email delivery service, Resend). These providers are legally obligated to protect your data.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (like bcrypt for your passwords) to ensure your data is safe. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

6. Your Data Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time. If you wish to permanently delete your BoiLoop account and wipe your data from our servers, please contact us or use the account deletion tool in your settings.
